KYC

Know Your Customer verification required before activating payment capabilities.

KYC, short for Know Your Customer, is the regulatory verification process required before financial services can be activated. Within happ, KYC is handled through Stripe Connect during onboarding.

When a user enables payments, Stripe requires submission of legal information such as full name, business entity details, tax identification data and bank account information. This information is validated to comply with global financial regulations, including anti-money laundering and fraud prevention frameworks.

KYC is not merely a technical requirement. It is a foundational safeguard that protects the financial ecosystem. Without proper verification, payment capabilities such as card processing, transfers and payouts remain restricted.

happ relies entirely on Stripe’s regulated infrastructure for KYC compliance. happ itself does not store sensitive verification documents but orchestrates the workflow that connects users to Stripe’s compliance systems.

Successful completion of KYC marks the transition from setup mode to operational readiness. It enables professionals to securely accept payments, store balance and transfer funds to their bank accounts.
