At a glance

  1. Start from the principle: zero commission Happ takes no percentage of your deal value. This is a design decision, not a promotional rate.
Happ takes no commission on your deal value. Not a percentage of the project, not a cut that grows as you grow. A $500 deal and a $50,000 deal are your deals. This is permanent by design: Happ's revenue comes from subscriptions and a flat per-transaction Service fee · never from a slice of what you earn.
  2. Know the four numbers The entire fee model is four figures. Here they are.
    • Service fee · flat $1.90 per transaction. The same $1.90 whether the payment is $100 or $10,000.
    • ACH (bank transfer) · 0.8%, capped at $5. All-in with the Service fee, an ACH payment never costs you more than $6.90.
    • Card · 3%. Cards cost more to process everywhere; the rate reflects the rail, not a markup strategy.
    • Instant Payouts · 1.5%, opt-in. Standard withdrawals carry no extra charge. Want the money now instead of on the standard schedule? Instant Payouts move it for 1.5% · entirely your call, per withdrawal.
  3. Run the math on your own milestone One worked example makes the model concrete. Swap in your own numbers.
    Take a $5,000 milestone:
    • Paid by ACH: 0.8% would be $40, but the cap holds it at $5. Add the $1.90 Service fee: $6.90 total · 0.14%.
    • Paid by card: 3% is $150, plus the $1.90 Service fee: $151.90 total.
The takeaway writes itself: on large milestones, encourage bank transfer. The bigger the payment, the more the ACH cap works in your favor.
  4. Understand why the ACH cap matters Percentage fees scale with your success. A capped rail doesn't.
On platforms with percentage fees, the bigger the deal, the bigger the cut. Happ caps the bank-transfer rail by design: as your deals grow, your effective rate on ACH shrinks toward zero. Payments run on Stripe infrastructure with you as the merchant of record · it's your business collecting, with Happ as the rail underneath. Fees apply as payments come in; your available balance shows on the Activity screen, ready to withdraw.
  5. Record offline payments Cash, checks, and outside transfers still belong in your record.
Payments settled outside the app can be recorded as offline payments on any contract, with a Payment Notes field for context. Recording them keeps your ledger and the contract's Timeline accurate · so your books tell the whole story, not just the online part.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Happ take a commission on my deals?

No. Zero commission on deal value, on every plan, at every size. Happ earns through subscriptions and the flat $1.90 Service fee per transaction · never a percentage of what you earn.

Is there a fee to withdraw my money?

Standard withdrawals carry no fee · all fees were already deducted when the payment was processed. Instant Payouts are the one exception: an opt-in that moves money immediately for 1.5%, charged only if you choose it, per withdrawal.

Why does card cost more than ACH?

Card networks charge more to process everywhere · the 3% reflects the rail, not a markup strategy. ACH is the cheaper rail by nature, and Happ caps it at $5 so the advantage grows with your deal size.

What does a $5,000 milestone actually cost me?

Paid by ACH: $6.90 all-in ($5 capped ACH + $1.90 Service fee) · 0.14%. Paid by card: $151.90 ($150 at 3% + $1.90 Service fee). On large milestones, bank transfer is the rail to encourage.

The whole model, in plain numbers

  • No percentage of your deal value, on any plan, at any size.
